We are committed to protecting and promoting human rights and dignity, and acting in an ethical and transparent manner at all times. As such, we have implemented this Moden Slavery Policy to demonstrate our commitment to mitigating the risk of modern slavery on our operations and supply chain, as well as to protecting and promoting human rights.
At AWS, we have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, servitude, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, bonded labour, forced marriage and deceptive recruiting in our operations and supply chain. We are committed to applying appropriate practices and policies to prevent modern slavery in our own operations and to helping prevent modern slavery in our supply chains, so far as is reasonably practicable.
Our Approach
AWS will achieve its commitment to respect human rights by:
- Operating and reporting in compliance with the requirements of Australia’s Modern Slavery Act 2018.
- Identifying, assessing and taking action to address modern slavery risks in our operations and supply chain.
- Implementing effective grievance mechanisms and providing access to remedy where we gave caused or contributed to adverse impacts.
- Maintaining our stable, long-term relationship with our main suppliers.
- Regularly visiting and consulting with our supply chain in Australia and overseas.
- Engaging our existing suppliers with an annual Modern Slavery Questionnaire to review their progress and monitor actions.
- Promoting high standards of ethics, integrity, behaviour and conduct among our employees, agents and contractors through our Code of Conduct.
- Developing and implementing a Supplier Code of Conduct to communicate our high standards and expectations regarding respect for huma rights and zero-tolerance to modern slavery.
- Incorporating modern slavery into our onboarding and procurement process.
- Taking a continuous implement approach to reduce the risk of modern slavery over time.
Responsibility
All employees and contractors (including temporary contractors) of AWS, are expected to read, understand and adhere to this policy and all related procedures.
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring this policy is implemented.
The Financial Controller is charged with the oversight of implementation and compliance with this policy.
Breaches of the Policy
A breach of this policy may lead to disciplinary action including, but not limited to, termination of employment or services.
AWS understands the importance of continued improvement to ensure our commitment to combatting modern slavery is upheld.
This policy has been approved and endorsed by the Board of Directors of AWS and will be regularly reviewed and updated as required.
