Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Have you registered for, and checked out our new and all-encompassing intranet “SpecifyAWS”? If you haven’t, get on to it now…you’re missing out!
SpecifyAWS is a user-friendly one-stop resource for all our fabricators, staff and specifiers.
This Blog specifically covers the resources available within the Business Hub of SpecifyAWS, most relevant to our Fabricators and their management team.
The Business Hub is an indexed folder allowing access to information and tools for business improvement and growth. It highlights seven unique categories, making it easy for you to find the tools and information you might need.
The seven categories are:
- ESP: This is our proprietary Business Management software that helps you measure and manage labour, which is what you sell …… your hours quoted, hours sold, hours made, and hours paid. Don’t forget to check out the Taberners ESP case study video too located within this tab – it’s a great review and only 7 minutes long.
- Sales – The Inputs: Business success starts with a factory full of the right work. These tools will assist you and your team in winning the next job. Don’t undervalue the art of selling.
- Production – The Outputs: Are you getting your joinery out the door profitably and on time? What is your productivity level and where are the constraints which are holding you back? There are some tools here that might help you.
- People, Place and Process – The Backbone: Here you will find some great information including the key drivers of success, position descriptions and a suggested growth plan template. Put some time aside to work on the business.
- Financial – The Measures: Tools within this tab will help you manage your business through measuring the right things. You’ll also find the labour rate calculator as well as budget, breakeven and cashflow templates.
- Fabricator Presentations: Copies of three key presentations are archived here together with a folder containing some of the referenced tools. The topics cover ESP, Fabricator Success, Velocity Scheduling (Dr Lisa Lang) and Theory of Constraints.
- Business Blogs: Previously published business blogs are filed within this tab allowing you to revisit them at your leisure.
SpecifyAWS should be your first port of call for all things AWS. Our aim is to keep it relevant and provide you with a positive user experience. If there are questions you have or more tools you’d like to see please let us know through your fabricator support person. We look forward to your feedback.
