This is a fantastic refurbishment of the University of Tasmania, which was originally designed in the early 20th Century. The AWS range of ThermalHEART aluminium windows and doors were utilised due to Tasmania’s extreme climate- hot in summer and cold in winter.

Alexander Symes Architect in association with g+v architecture utilises the Vantage Aluminium range of systems to maximise natural ventilation throughout the home. Aluminium windows and doors were strategically designed and placed to ensure a passive solar home.

Three generations. Two businesses. One house. This glorious renovation in sunny McMasters Beach has it all. Architect, Matt Thitchener, faced a number of challenges. The first was to create a multi-purpose building that worked together to form a whole. This gorgeous contemporary residence in inner-city Melbourne was to be the owners’ dream home and energy efficiency was non-negotiable. Determined to include passive Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) principles to reduce the need for artificial heating and cooling, and combat condensation, the owners tasked Melbourne Design Studios with this stunning project.

This home in Mandurah, south of Perth, is all about space. The design of the home maximises glass to embrace the sweeping views around it. It’s detailed, deeply personal and with a direct connection to the waterway running by it.

Situated in regional Victoria, the Euroa house embraces all that nature has to offer, with the home fitting right into its unique landscape.

Granville Heritage House was the canvas she imagined, ‘‘We loved the home as soon as we walked in”. It was a pale blue timber cottage in its original form with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The existing house wasn’t big enough to accommodate a family of three generations. It was in poor condition and quite a small space, Anna from Studio Urbo was willing to take a risk.
